How We Work

Our Approach

We approach architecture as a conceptual and poetic practice. One that is rooted in metaphor, narrative and the human experience. Each project starts by uncovering an underlying idea: a memory, a gesture, a natural phenomenon, or a quiet observation drawn from everyday life. These often ordinary or whimsical inspirations are translated into spatial narratives that guide the design from the first sketch to the final detail.

From Idea to Form

Rather than designing buildings as singular objects, we compose sequences. Spaces that unfold, compress, reveal, and resonate. Creating small worlds within worlds. Moments of intimacy nested within larger volumes, thresholds that heighten awareness, and subtle shifts that invite pause and reflection.  Moments of surprise or quiet delight are carefully embedded into our work, through light, proportion, material, and movement. These gestures are never arbitrary; they are grounded in lived experience and shaped to support how people inhabit, feel and remember a place.

Moments that Stay

Ultimately, our process is about creating environments that connect emotionally. Spaces that linger in memory, reward attention, and deepen the relationship and experience of its occupants and the people that call these spaces home.

Performace-Driven Design

Energy performance is not an afterthought in our process, it is the foundation of how we design. Through energy modelling, thermal envelope strategies, and Passive House consulting, our projects consistently exceed minimum code requirements. We believe sustainability and architectural beauty are not competing goals, but two sides of the same coin. The most sucessful homes are those that achieve comfort, performance, and aesthetics in harmony.

Listening to Place

Every site carries its own story. Its climate, landscape, and material culture. We approach each project as an act of listening before creating. Whether designing a new custom home, a compact addition, or a multi-unit infill, we draw inspiration from context to shape design decisions.  Our work is expressed through thoughtful detailing, efficient assemblies, and a commitment to building forms that feel at once rooted and contemporary.

A Buildable Vision

Clear communication is essential to the design process. We provide 3D renderings and visualizations that allow clients to see their project long before it is built. Alongside this, our feasibility studies help clients understand zoning, site potential, and budget implications early in the process, ensuring informed decisions from the start.
